A Dover garage door company, named for Delaware's own bird, that would rather be direct and honest.

Who we are

Blue Hen Garage Doors repairs, services and installs residential and commercial garage doors and openers. Our office is at 110 Lafferty Ln, Suite F, in Dover, and we work across all three Delaware counties and Maryland's Eastern Shore.

We started out doing the garage doors for our parent company, Pole Buildings Unlimited, then opened to homeowners and businesses across Delaware. That's why pole barns, metal buildings and big openings are familiar ground for us.

On the repair side that means broken springs, snapped cables, openers that quit, doors that come off their track, and worn seals. On the install side it means new and replacement doors for houses, barns, shops and businesses, plus openers. We're a proud distributor of Haas garage doors, and estimates on new doors are free and next-day.

We're a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating. The business is registered as Blue Hen Doors LLC.

Why “Blue Hen”

The Blue Hen chicken is Delaware's state bird. The name goes back to the Revolutionary War, when Delaware soldiers became known as the Blue Hen's Chickens for the fighting gamecocks they carried.

Delawareans have used it ever since. We took it because we're a Delaware company, and we'd like to be the local crew people are glad they called.

We'd rather be direct and honest

Not every garage door company works the same way. Some hide fees, some give vague answers, and some never explain what you're paying for. We aim for great service, fair pricing, and technicians who care about doing the job right.

You call or send the estimate form, and we talk through what the door is doing.
We come out, look at the door, and find what's actually wrong or measure for the new one.
We explain your options plainly, so you know what you're paying for before the work starts.
We do the work and run the door before we leave, so you see it working.
