Older lots near The Circle and newer townhouses
Georgetown's housing is mostly modern around an older core. The town's 2021 comprehensive plan counts 219 homes built before 1940, about 7.9 percent of the stock, while 28.8 percent went up in 2000 or later. The first lots, sold in 1791, measured 60 by 120 feet, so if your older home near The Circle has a detached garage, measure the opening before you shop: it may not match a stock door size.
Townhouses are the fastest-growing part of the stock: single-family attached homes went from 21 in 2000 to 295 in 2019. Plans were reviewed in 2018 for 121 single-family homes and 288 apartments at Village of College Park on College Park Lane, and in Kimmeytown the Historic Georgetown Association designed and built four new homes and built or restored 11 more. Where townhouse doors sit side by side, we match the panel style and color so the row still reads as one building.
